Philippine Education in the Era of Technology
The International Institute for Management Development (IMD), a research group based in Switzerland, conducted a talent competitiveness study in 66 countries, placing the Philippines in 49th place.
Even though the country is making significant progress in managing its talent pool, a mismatch remains between the students’ curriculum and the companies’ demands.
Competition in the Next Generation
Improving the competitiveness of Filipinos requires making education accessible across all age groups; building more science-focused schools; embedding critical thinking in education; and empowering future generations to adapt to new technologies. Institutions must provide an education system where students can share a safe, unbiased, culturally adept environment that allows them to enhance their skills and talents above any other.
There are issues that the government should focus on to improve its educational system. One pressing problem is that many schools in the country are underfunded, resulting in an insufficient number of classrooms, textbooks, learning materials, and even teachers, which leads to a decrease in the students’ learning capability.
Against the World’s Best
Several online courses and platforms have proven to be effective in delivering knowledge and skills to students in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic. These provided and are still, to this day, providing interactive activities and tutorials and even have games in their system that help students easily understand their lessons.
These online courses have a creative way of teaching subjects where students grow to become leaders and entrepreneurs. They raise the teaching standards and enable enrollees to become creative thinkers and innovators while equipping them with essential skills.
As the world leans toward modernization, technology plays an integral part in the education system. It allows us to study and explore even the smallest of atoms. It can also help us examine the workings of our vast universe.
Digital innovations help break the barrier between the pandemic and education. From lectures, recitations, and examinations, the internet has proven to be the most crucial element in maintaining education through online classes when the pandemic hits the Philippines.
Forward and Upward With Technology-Based Education
Our country will significantly benefit from students and teachers who familiarize themselves with technology-based approaches to education. These innovations equip students with the necessary skills for their future careers and personalize learning and teaching for both students and teachers.
Such knowledge will open up numerous market opportunities, allowing Filipinos to compete even against developed countries.
